Swimming Lessons

Okay, so I remembered to bring my camera again yesterday to the YMCA but really wasn't able to get any great pictures of the girls. So here are just a couple of the decent ones. I'll try again another time.
Hayley did have a scare in the pool on Tuesday. Apparently, she decided to go in the water by herself when the instructor had her back turned. I must've been watching Ashley swim at the time because I didn't even know it'd happened until yesterday. Another of the class mother's told me that she jumped off the bench to get to her but that by the time she was to her feet, Hayley's instructor had already scooped her up out of the water. The positives of this story is that Hayley apparently had control in the situation and blew bubbles and started paddling and kicking immediately, trying to keep her head out of the water. Needless to say, my attention will be primarily on Hayley during lessons from now on.
Other than that scare, both girls are doing remarkable in the water. Ashley and Hayley are both loving their lessons.

The girls at the YMCA

I finally remembered to take my camera into the Y today and was able to get a few pictures of the girls. I completely forgot to take them while they were swimming so I'll have to try to remember that on Thursday.

Jumping into the Pit~
I can't hang on any longer MOM!!!

She may have fallen, but she's still smiling!

Hayley LOVES this swing. It swings so high and forever far. It's actually pretty scary but she loves it.

After swimming, we have a quick snack before Ashley goes to gymnastics.

I'm too busy eating to smile Mom!

Princess Ashley loves gymnastics!

Showing off some of her moves...

Another trip to the zoo

On Saturday the 21st we took the girls back to the zoo. There was a scheduled Tiger Play day that we wanted to see. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see too much out of the ordinary but we did get to see the male a lot closer than we ever have before and holy moly, he's huge! His paws have got to be the size of Hayley's head. Anyways, they put this tiger into a viewing area that he's not normally in and wouldn't ya know he had to "spray" his scent all over. Ugh, it was disgusting and funny at the same time. Anyhoo, here are a few pics from our day at the zoo.

Joan the walrus. Ashley really got a kick out of the walruses this trip.

Both the girls were a little concerned with the fact that only a small piece of glass was in between them and the tiger. Ashley kept reaching back for reassurance when he came close.

Okay, so you can barely see the tiger in the back of this picture...but notice what he did to my daughter! YUCK!!! She thought it was hilarious. He peed on the wall mom, she said!

Happy Valentine's Day!

We hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day yesterday. We had a nice time. John of course worked in the morning but by the time he got home the girls and I were ready to celebrate. We got dressed up, opened gifts, went out for a family dinner at the Outback, and then walked off some of our dinner at the mall. Oh yeah, we picked up some DQ blizzards on the way home too! :)

After all these years, I still think we look good together.

I know they're not smiling but for some reason, I love this picture.

Sisterly Love

There's a whole lot of love in this picture.

A little taste of Ashley's photography skills.

Happy girls!

John was a bit surprised by his gift this year but in a good way. He can't wait to finally go see his team beat the Mav's next month in Portland!

Mommy explaining to Ashley why girls LOVE little black boxes!

John surprised me with some gorgeous new diamond earrings. I've always wanted a pair and
I LOVE THEM!

Dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory

After a great time at the zoo, John introduced us girls to a restaurant called the Old Spaghetti Factory. It was pretty yummy and the girls thought it was cool that there was a train car inside the restaurant.

John the his little girls.

Hayley was such a goofball.

Fun at the Zoo!

Ashley has been working really hard lately on her behavior and she earned enough stickers to go to the zoo. Both she and Hayley were excited to go and we all had a great time.

The girls love the new kid zone at the zoo.

Round and round she goes...

One of the girls' favorite thing to do is feed the sheep and goats.

Us in the marine learning center. Ashley and Hayley weren't really into touching all the slimy creatures.

The sloth was pretty cool. Did you know that they typically sleep 23 hours of the day and cannot stand on their legs? Crazy.

We love watching the Beluga Whales.

The girls thought it was fun to make John go as fast as he could up the ramps so they could try to beat Mom up the steps.
